I did a "trash the dress" photo shoot yesterday and it was a lot of fun!! The pictures look great (so far-I haven't seen them all)!! My dress is dirty but clean enough that dry cleaning can fix it. After that, I plan on donating it or turning it into pillows or something like that. For me, doing the photo shoot was liberating because my wedding day itself was awful. If something could go wrong, it did. I did NOT spend a small fortune on my dress, so that part of it didn't concern me. http://www.trashthedress.com has tons of pictures of brides who have done this and from what I understand, a lot of brides like doing this!

If you're using two colors, even though they'll be separated, I suggest selecting a little more contrast between them. Having black and brown seems kind of pointless since they are similar enough (like having two main subjects in a photo instead of foreground and background image). Instead of brown, how about a dark bronze? Something with just a little more punch. This could be the bridesmaid dress color and they could wear it again for an elegant night out. I think it would be a good accent to the black.
