Oh, I loved this, Paula – so funny! And I guess a beach wedding in July would be better than a Brooklyn wedding in July!
Although I think I'd prefer my Brooklyn wedding in the AC than one in the vineyard in the baking sun – yuck! Like you said, what's wrong with the fall or even the spring? Let's encourage our kids to have spring or fall weddings one day… in the distant future. 
What has the GOP done to offer an alternative either nationally or locally? There are no comprehensive plans to look at, only rhetoric. In Delaware there isn't even rhetoric because our Dover elite are almost untouchable once elected. The effect of Hurricane Earl on their beach houses will be the largets crisis most members of the General Assembly will confront this year. Hope is gone, and we've changed for the worse. I thought that Bush 41 was a failure until Bush 43 made him look like a rocket scientist. It's a sad state of affairs when you look back and yearn for Bill Clinton's economy.
I do not believe this is one of the best films ever, I can say that this film is indeed a work of art. I have read "Death in Venice" by Thomas Mann, and when I finished it, I often wondered how it could be translated into a film; how difficult this would be. Now I know. The rendering of the novel into a film could not have been done better, in my estimation. Seeing the costumes was to die for, as Visconti took pains to make everything realistic, and that is was. The cinematography is outstanding. Editing was excellent; even though, at first, there appears to be more footage than what is necessary, the film actually conjures up the same emotions as Mann's novel. In the novel, we know just as much about the characters as we do in the film. This is probably the best cinematic adaptation of a novel that I have ever seen.

I’m very glad you didn’t put any landmarks or signs on the drive. Some pyschos out there. I never did like beaches, I had a bad experience. But this thing is only 500 charcters so great job MsCrimson.
You're going to have to call a contractor for this one. There are some many variables (like soil stability and the cost of city permits) that no one on the internet can answer the question without a lot more information than what you're giving.
