Long Arm of the LWA
It’s 11 o’clock on a Saturday night, and I’m lost in Queens on my way to a Vodou ceremony. Three Haitian drummers sit in my car, their instruments lying in my trunk. The party can’t start without us, and we’re two hours late.

Josh, this is a fantastic post. It's so easy to get lost in the “okay, but what if…” situations that we seem to forget the facts–that, as you pointed out, most college rapists will rape repeatedly, and that situations like those depicted in Sex on a Saturday Night represent a minority of cases of sexual assault. Ingrid I love what you did with that Aviary fabric!!! Always a favorite of mine!!!! Curious…did you quilt that on a long arm or a standard machine? It looks great! If it's a long-arm, I would be very interested to know which machine you have, etc., as I'm getting really sick of doling out mondo bucks to have mine quilted!! Hope you have a great weekend. Isn't the weather wonderful today? :o )

[...] April 2, 2010 · Leave a Comment I don’t have it in me as the sun sets this Friday for a fresh rant about the $4-million well-intentioned but wrong-headed newspapers-are-alive-and-kicking campaign engineered by the New York Press Association. I said my piece on Feb. 23 (Hey, Opie — in New York, the newspapers think it’s the 1950s. Let’s put our pop in a sack and ride the Chevy to the levy and gaze at the stars) and on Feb. 18 (Promoting the walking dead). [...]
