Question by Bubbles: Anyone want any free wedding advice or to give some to others?
If you have your wedding outside or on a beach- please supply sunscreen as favors on in the bathroom for people to use! I went to a beach wedding which was in a restaurant and the whole thing was open and everyone got sunburned badly!
Do you have any advice you want to pass on?

I knew the wedding was outside and my 15spf was fine for the 15 mins on the beach but I didn’t know the reception was outside too.

Yes, I have lots of advice to pass on…that’s kind of the point of Y!A.

Here’s mine: Write your thank you notes as soon as you get a gift to keep them from piling up.
P.S. Obviously the point of this board is to give and receive free wedding advice, but there’s no need to be rude to the person who posted the question. I think she’s passing on one tip, and asking folks to pass on one tip in return.
Well , this is a rather tough question. I advise you to make the bridesmaids wear the hawaiian bikini suits. It’s fun isn’t it? and make your flower bouquite a tropical fruit bouquit.
You knew the wedding was outside , why didn’t you think to bring sunscreen? That’s what I would do! I have even brought little personal battery fans to weddings that are to be out side. Sometimes the brides has too much on their minds to think about sunscreen.
She said the wedding was to be in a restaurant…how did she know that it was going to be in the open. At a restaurant implies inside.
I agree, supply sunscreen. It’s better than a crappy favor anyway!
My bit of free advice….if you have to ask “is this tacky”, then Yes it is indeed tacky.
Please remember it is the couples day and do not complain about what they should of done and could of done.
Also do not bring extra guest even after you have been told that they can not accommodate them.
Couples no matter what someone will complain about something remember the world full of whiners. If there the type that normally does lots of whining, don’t worry about it that means everything going right!
The day of no need to stress out, if it wrong there nothing you can do about it, and you are the only one who knows it wrong no one will notice. You wont even notice one the ceremony starts!
We didn’t, but a bridesmaid did a homemade pergola. She created sort of a foldable (so it could be transported on top of an SUV) three-piece bamboo pergola for her beach wedding, and we just covered it in tulle and orchids once it was set up in the sand.
We also had a simple, debt-free wedding and a cake-and-punch reception. I determined that the people who came to our wedding actually cared about us and our happiness rather than getting a free lunch. I have a good imagination.
I have noticed, once you've survived the wedding, there's not much else that can really bother you. It does make great memories!
