Linda- The attic is one of my favorite places in our home. When we bought our old house the attic space was just used for storage…it even had a portion of the roof in it. The section where the bed is had loose floor boards and just one window. My husband and I gutted it…right down to the studs…and then put it back together. I added to the design several built-ins…bed, shelves, bench, bulletin board, and storage under the eves. I used paint in three different shades of yellow- light yellow, egg yoke and a sisal color. Ceiling is China White.I find these wedding dresses from the 1970′s refreshing…lots of nice details.

I was expecting saris lol, aren’t those a little inappropriate? for marriage? They’re pretty dresses nonetheless.
Remember you are a princess for a day, have and be what ever you want. When I was getting this as well from my family, I kept saying "when you get married you can try that, I'm a princess for a day" or if they were already married I would say "for your next wedding you can do that, I'm a princess for a day". I did get everything I wanted but be careful. On the day all these medaling people medaled. People were giving us more than one thing to do at a time. Time to cut the cake, no time to take the photos and then they would be having people lined up for photos while my husband and I were still trying to sit and eat our food. I ended up taking my son for a walk and swung on the swings away from everyone to get my thoughts and went back in a bit tougher. As soon as they saw me again they had their demands of what should be done next. I kept telling them nicely but sternly off I am going to have something to eat with my husband and son. When they came again same thing only I am going to dance with my husband and son. We cut the cake when we were ready. etc etc. So stand up for yourself otherwise it will be their wedding and not yours.
